Outstanding R.E. Inspection!!!
Our new school year started with a beautiful Mass for Staff. We prayed for our beautiful children and their families.

Many thanks to our very generous parents and children for all the gifts donated at Christmas.
These gifts were distributed by Caritas Shrewsbury and
Trafford Social Services.
Stay Awake….Be Ready!
As we enter the season of Advent, the children will have the opportunity to take home the Travelling Nativity. This is a wonderful opportunity, for the family to gather in prayer we prepare as we await the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day.
St. Andrew's Day
Our parents and parishioners of St. Joseph's Parish, joined us to celebrate St. Andrew's Day.
The children provided entertainment with Scottish dancing and singing.
A wonderful afternoon was had by all.
The School Community came together at 11 o'clock on the 11th November to pay respects to all those who have died in war. A two minute silence was observed after The Last Post.

Rosary Sunday is an invitation to people in parishes, in homes, in religious orders to pray the Rosary for the intention of the Family, linking in with those gathered in Rome for the Synod on the Family.

We brought in Harvest Gifts for Cornerstone in Manchester. Year 2 led Harvest Mass thanking God for the work of the farmer and remembering all those who are hungry in the world.
CAFOD Family Fast Day
The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus.
Preparations have begun for the First Sacraments programme when seventy two children will celebrate their First Holy Communion in May 2019.

The sun shone on this most special day for our Year 3 children as they made their First Holy Communion.
May is the month of Mary
After a beautiful mass lin honour of Mary, the whole school processed in to the church garden, to crown the statue of Our Lady at the grotto. The grotto was adorned with flowers, and the eldest boy and youngest girl in the school had the special honour of crowning Our Lady.
St George’s Day
Reception children dance around the maypole as part of St. George's Day celebrations. This was a lovely opportunity where the school invited parents and parishioners to celebrate the day with afternoon tea and entertainment.

Our Holy Week Mass was led by Year 6.
The Gospel of The Passion of Our Lord was told through drama and song.
All classes found out about the Passover and the Last Supper. The children experienced a Seder Meal.

Here Comes Jesus
Key Stage 1 children told the story of Palm Sunday and Holy Week through music and drama.
The Palm Sunday Procession at St Joseph's Church on Sunday was led by a donkey. It was wonderful to see so many children and the donkey enjoyed all their carrots!!
Prayer Sponsors Afternoon Tea
We welcomed Prayer Sponsors of our First Holy Communion Children, to enjoy tea and cakes, as a small "thank - you" for remembering them in their prayers each day as they prepare to receive the Sacrament. We especially remember those Prayer Sponsors who were unable to be with us, especially those who are sick.
Saint Joseph's Day
Saint Joseph, Patron Saint of our school and parish. We celebrated the day with a beautiful has led by Year 1 children. The ice cream van came and we all enjoyed a delicious ice cream in the beautiful spring sunshine.
Saint Patrick's Day
Saint Patrick's Day was celebrated with afternoon tea for parents and parish members. The children performed some traditional songs and we had some amazing Irish dancers.
Thank you raising money for CAFOD and the children at The Valley of the Moon Nursery.
Year 2 had a movie night with drinks and popcorn. Everyone came to school ready for bed!!
Reception held a music concert. This was a lovely afternoon and very much enjoyed by parents and grandparents.
Year 3 children held a Toy Sale. Everyone brought in a toy and bought another one back!!
Year 5 children held a Mother's Day Sale. This was a great success and the children enjoyed choosing their own gift for mum.
Year 6 had a French theme to their fundraising with a French Cafe, serving croissants and pain au chocolate. Delicious!!
Ash Wednesday starts the season of Lent. We all received ashes at a mass led by Y5 children.
Family Fast Day
Y4 helped to raise awareness of Family Fast Day and the work of CAFOD in an assembly. Everyone brought in £1 towards our Lenten fundraising. Thank you for your generosity.
Each family will have the opportunity to have the "Travelling Cross" in their home as we prepare for Easter.
Year 3 visit the Marist Centre
As part of our Holy Communion programme, Year 3 visited the Marist Centre and enjoyed a day of prayer, drama and reflection.

First Holy Communion Enrolment Mass
Our Year 3 children received medals to mark the start on the net stage of their journey towards receiving the Sacrament.
This was a lovely Mass led by the children. The children are invited to wear their enrolment medals at every Mass.

Year1 and 2 children told the Christmas Story through drama and song.
The First Christmas
Reception children reminded everyone that we are waiting for Jesus. Through dance and drama they told the tradition of the Advent Wreath and the story of Jesus' birth. We remembered children around the world and prayed for peace.
Each child has the opportunity to take home a "Travelling Nativity" during the season of Advent.
We remembered the War Dead with readings and a two minute silence followed by the Last Post.
St Joseph's remembered the work of the farmer and those less fortunate than us.
After a beautiful Harvest Mass, Year 6 and the Minnie Vinnies collected all the donations of food sent in by the children. These were then taken to the Cornerstones Centre in Manchester.
All children in Key Stage 2 are welcome to join the Minnie Vinnies. The children meet each week and discuss ways we can help others in the community.
